Singer, Songwriter, Musician
Rhonda High Browne is a singer, songwriter, recording artist and leader of one of Chicago’s hottest bands “Pieces”—a soulful blend of talented musicians with R & B, Jazz and Pop influences. Rhonda has performed as a front-woman for Pieces since their inception.
Rhonda, a life-long Chicago native, has perfected her skill at every opportunity, and in every environment. For several years Rhonda has been singing and performing her smooth sounds with some of the finest musicians in the Chicago area; and was the lead female vocalist in the well-known electrifying group in Chicago “The Gentlemen of Leisure Band.”
She is listed in the Chicago Jazz Magazine and has performed for many prestigious occasions at the South Shore Country Club, Chicago Hilton, Marriott, and various other venues in the Chicago-land area. She has belted a stirring rendition of the National Anthem at many local events where many saluted her amazing talent. Rhonda’s other current engagements include weddings, festivals, community events, as well as social and corporate events.
Rhonda’s talents were developed at an early age singing in church, talent shows, community centers and musical theatre. Her artistry evokes inspiration from the likes of Ella, Billie, Anita, Barbra, and of course, Aretha.
After a successful career in modeling, where she worked for well-known clients including Soft Sheen, Jewel Foods, RC Cola, and William S. Advertising in New York, she returned to her first love of music, and sang with bands at Governor’s State University, South Suburban College (where she received her Associate Degree in Fine Arts), and Columbia College Chicago, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Jazz Vocal Performance in 2011.
